Meet The Backstreet Cruisers

Introducing The Backstreet Cruisers:

Tony

Tony Joseph (Vocalist and Bass Guitar)
I was born in the 50’s where Bill Haley's "Rock Around The Clock" and “Shake, Rattle & Roll" topped the charts. At age 4 I learned to sing and keep a beat with spoons, tapping out time as my dad played guitar. In 1965 I got my first guitar, and some years later I changed to bass guitar. In 1971 I started my own band “Tony Zeus Band” of Auburn NY. I joined the US Army in 1973 and in May 1974 I auditioned for Lead Singer and Bassist for a rock band in the Army “The Throw Money Band” where we toured and rocked the troops. I learned blues harmonica in Kansas, and from 78 to 85 I played Gospel Rock. In 88 to 92 I formed “JOSEPHUS”, a Country / Rock Band. In 95 I moved to St. Louis. I love to make music of all types and bring a smile to many faces as we take you down memory lane with our 50’s 60’s and 70’s music! Come on out to see us you’ll be so glad you did.

Jerry Sexauer (Lead Guitar)
Jerry’s musical career began at the age of 10, when he got a guitar for his birthday. He briefly took lessons, and in a short time joined his first band. He has since played with several St. Louis area bands. His favorite guitarist: Chet Atkins. His greatest influences were Rock & Roll icons like Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Carl Perkins, The Eagles and Elvis. He enjoys playing all types of music and on most weekends when he’s not rockin’ with The Backstreet Cruisers, you’ll find him at home in Wildwood, Mo.

Butch Coleman (Vocalist and Drummer)
Butch is a St. Louis native who started playing drums in church at the age of 8. He has traveled and played abroad, playing music everywhere. He studied under St. Louis' own Jim Miller, who tought him "Man, if nothing else, play the pocket." His favorite drummer is Bill Cobham, and his favorite move is "There's No Business Like Show Business," because "it's the creed of the entertainment business."
